The Old Bothy is a small professional company based in Dalry, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland.
Like many people over the last few years, the impact of the recession forced us to re-evaluate our paths in life.
Not to bore you too much with a long boring and sorry story - having spent most of our lives in a variety of other industries, we always had an interest in vintage & retro furniture and the arts, so following redundancy - two years at college re-training in furniture restoration and french polishing were very happily spent.
Following this we embarked on an artistic approach to renovating furniture, through traditional methods, a variety of paint techniques and love of decoupage and gilding.
~ Our aim has always been to provide something practical, useful but beautiful and different to whats on the high street. We also hope our furniture is eclectic enough to suit different tastes and budgets. ~
Our wee company is based on the belief that our customers' needs and likes are of the utmost importance. Our team is committed to meeting those. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We have also had great success in sourcing items of furniture and refurbishing them to our clients specific specifications at extremely competitive prices - so please don't hesitate to ask!
